The other day CMRAO announced future education requirements for condominium managers to be introduced effective November 1, 2021. As an instructor and enthusiast on-the-job trainer, I took the time to read in detail and dissect both The Competency Profile for Condominium Managers in Ontario and the Curriculum Design & Course Blueprint for Condominium Managers in Ontario 2020.
First impression...I am impressed. CMRAO not only took the first steps into assuming condominium management education requirements, but CMRAO also took the RIGHT steps in this direction. If you care to read, you will be impressed with the job done by the consultants in identifying the project context and deliverables used to create the new curriculum. Perfectly executed, based on project management techniques, the laborious process was able to compile a concise, yet detailed roadmap to what condominium managers’ education will become in the near future. Everything, from technical knowledge to a holistic approach to the job, was taken into consideration in creating an educational structure able to sustain the realities of the job in particular and the condominium industry in general.
