COVID-19 PANDEMIC GUIDELINES AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE

On Monday, March 23rd, 2020 the Ontario Government announced the list of essential services allowed to continue to operate during the COVID-19 pandemic. Naturally, property management services was identified as one of the essential services.

B1 Management Group Inc. will continue to operate during this time. Our focus will be on the safety of our communities, our clients and our employees. In order to comply with guidelines and recommendation from the Public Heath Departments the following emergency procedures will be implemented effective immediately.  

 

Physical Management and Resident Requests

  • During the pandemic, our staff will be available to our residents via email and telephone.

  • No in person meetings will be held during this time until further notice.

  • No in-suite inspections will be performed, except in case of emergencies (major flood, fire and life-threatening situations). In case of work being deemed necessary in the suites, residents will be required to isolate in another area of the unit in order to comply with social distancing.

  • All common element amenities will be closed until further notice.

 

Board Meetings and Owner Meetings

  • During the pandemic, it is recommended that all in-person meetings be avoided.

  • Board meetings will be held either by teleconference or using one of the on-line meeting platforms.

  • All annual and special meetings of owners will be postponed until further notice.

 

How to prevent getting infected with COVID-19

  • Avoid large gatherings.

  • Avoid close contact with people who are sick.

  • Practice social distancing (more than 2 metres / 6 feet) from people.

  • Avoid handshakes.

  • Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer (minimum 70%).

  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.

  • Cover your mouth and noise with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, then throw the tissue in the trash.

  • If you don’t have a tissue, cough or sneeze into your sleeve, not into your hands.

  • Don’t share eating utensils, toothbrushes or towels.

  • Avoid non-essential travel.

  • If you are experiencing cold or flu like symptoms stay home until you are feeling better.
